Bringing Hope Through the Power of Soccer
We are a soccer-loving, soccer-obsessed family of four from New Jersey, who want to give back to less fortunate children in refugee camps around the world through the sport we love. Soccer has been in our lives since we were old enough to walk. For as long as we can remember, our feet were stuck to a soccer ball. We play soccer for a club team nearly everyday of our lives all year long. To say that soccer plays an important role in our lives would be the understatement of the year!
Soccer has shaped who we are and it has taught us so many valuable skills and life lessons that we will take with us long after we are done playing soccer. It has taught us discipline, tenacity, teamwork, patience, communication, and it has also taught us how to accept defeat and failure. Most of all, soccer has given us great joy, happiness and a lifetime of memories that we will cherish forever.
As soccer gave us so much, we wanted to pay it forward and give back to those less fortunate by using soccer as a tool. After giving this a lot of thought, we decided to start (with the help of our parents) Kick for Peace with the aim of providing soccer balls to children in refugee camps around the world. Why them?
There are close to 7 million people who currently live in refugee camps around the world and over half are children, who are among the most vulnerable and weak members of society. Their lives have been gravely impacted and displaced by violence, natural disasters, and face unimaginable hardships at these camps. But they should not have to give up their childhood. They should have a moment of joy and escape. It is for this reason that Kick for Peace was created.
Soccer is the most popular sport in the world, and we want to use the power of the most popular sport to spread moments of joy and hope for these children. All you need is a soccer ball to enjoy the game of soccer. We believe that playing soccer has the power to uplift the spirits of children in refugee camps, and we hope that playing soccer offers them a break from their day to day life challenges. This is why we strongly believe that even a simple soccer ball can bring joy, laughter and hope to children living in difficult circumstances. We hope you share our goal and help us with donations.
